Crystal Renn is Upset over Her “Skinny” Body on Vogue Photos

Crystal Renn is best known in the glamorous fashion industry for her portfolio as a plus-size supermodel. No wonder she got terribly mad over her shoots taken and published by French Vogue in Paris earlier this month, in which her images have allegedly been photoshopped that she appears to have a much thinner body.
Crystal agreed to have her shot by photographer Nicholas Routzen for a spread entitled Passion for Fashion. But after those photos depicting her in black and white—wearing only a sleeveless tee and quite heavy makeup while leaning against the wall and looking straight into the camera—became public, everyone was shocked to see her thinner than she usually is.
FYI, Crystal Renn was once a 0-size girl. She had won her struggle against anorexia, and now she develops a healthier lifestyle, obtaining a 12-size body at 165 lbs. Stating that beauty actually comes from inside, not from body size nor shape, she admits she feels terribly annoyed by those images, where she seems to have a 2-size body. You see, the beautiful brunette has been speaking out about her struggle against anorexia and low self-esteem these recent years. After walked the runway for such famous designers as Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel, she now wants to help other girls having such similar situations. If they saw those images, Renn said, they would see her as a hypocrite who started to lose weight by starving herself all over again. The messenger should talk and do just the same as the message, and so she concerns about those photos deeply.
“You want to laugh because you know it’s not you, but then you realize everyone out there seeing these images thinks it is. I was obviously upset and concerned. I don’t want some girl who’s recovering from anorexia to see the picture and think I don’t think that you can be any size and be beautiful. That’s completely not what I’m about,” Renn tells People.
Renn admits she knows how Photoshop can correct flaws out of photos. The software is meant to remove spots or pimples, polishing certain areas and so on, but definitely not to reduce nor add the whole body size.
Meanwhile the alleged photographer Routzen claimed that he only did his job. Renn’s appearance in those photos can be explained to the fact that they were, “Taken from a higher angle with a wider lens,” he said.
