Taylor Lautner talks about Eclipse

Taylor Daniel Lautner, 18, is perhaps best known for his role as the werewolf Jacob Black in the Twilight movie series. He is also, currently, the highest paid teen actor in Hollywood.
In a recent The Twilight Saga: Eclipse press conference, Taylor has stated that he was actually bummed. Though there’s a lot more action in this film, most of it happens when Jacob is in wolf-form. So, action-loving Taylor is truly bummed that he wasn’t involved in too much action. The biggest thing, for him, he said, was probably the part when his character Jacob gets to kiss Bella (Kristen Stewart) for the first time.
When asked about his character Jacob, Taylor said that Jacob definitely matures quite a bit in Eclipse. Since Jacob has been dealing with his new self, he has come to know his new self and the situation he has to be put in. Jacob becomes frustrated a lot of times in this film because he gets so close all the time and then gets told no, over and over again. So, it’s quite a bummer but Jacob’s persistent.
Taylor also talked about working more closely with Robert Pattinson in Eclipse. He said he was really excited to work with Rob in Eclipse. The hardest thing he found about working with Rob? Taylor usually had to hit Rob in the scenes and he found it difficult because Rob is such a funny, nice guy. Taylor said it’s literally like he and Rob were doing a scene where they were yelling and screaming at each other, and Rob is slapping his shoulder while he is shoving Rob off him. They’re screaming and spitting in each other’s faces. Then as soon as the director calls cut, the two of them just burst out laughing. Taylor has said it’s really hard to be mean to Rob.
Another thing Taylor mentioned is his favorite scene. He said the tent scene is really good because it has intensity but it is also pretty humorous at the same time. He found it ironic that Bella was freezing in the tent and the only person who has the ability to warm her up was Jacob. That was just so frustrating for Edward.
Taylor has stated that Eclipse, by far, is his favorite movie because it is exciting and very dangerous. The characters are at war the entire time. Though they still have the romance, it is actually elevated, as this is actually the height of the love triangle. But this time, Edward and Jacob are force to team up together to protect Bella from Victoria and Riley. Then Taylor says this is a really long way of telling someone to see the movie. Laughing, he says, “You should see the movie.”
Eclipse premieres in North American theaters on June 30.
