Potential Killer Fungus Spreading in the US

It has continued to be a struggle just to get through a tough day with the harsh and unpredictable weather and climatic conditions beating down on our bodies, economic fallout and global recession that has caught our finances on a stranglehold as well as the crime rate escalating every passing hour. And with the health care crisis still unresolved, getting sick is simply not an option because of the expensive medicines and hospital fees. That is why everybody is alarmed and alert about a deadly fungus that is threatening to engulf the United States and afflict its people.

The potentially deadly Cryptococcus Gattii is causing the widespread alarm and scientists as well as medical experts are scrambling to know more about the fungus, how to prevent its proliferation as well as developing potential cure for those who will be afflicted. It has now spread far and wide in the northwest territory of America and has even reached the province of British Columbia. And experts and analysts fear that the new fungi are airborne in nature thus making its prevention tougher than just washing hands and staying at home in self exile and self therapy.

And new concerns arise because the fungi seem to thrive in temperate areas and are not afflicting humans alone but animals as well. This might compromise livestock across affected areas and this could be detrimental to food production particularly meat and dairy products. The disease is pretty serious featuring a staggering 25 percent mortality rate and symptoms include severe headaches, incessant cough, night chills, high fever and deep chest pains.
